Serrated Hex Flange Screws

Serrated Hex Flange Screws, Serrated hex Flange Bolts and commonly known by their trade name as Whiz-Lock Bolts, are unslotted hex head flange screws that have serrations under the flange, or on the bearing surface. The flange provides more strength than a regular hex screw, and in some applications, the serrations eliminate the need for lock washers or lock nuts.

Serrated Hex Flange Screws are a form of hex head bolt with a wider serrated flange under the head. The circular serrated flange under the head serves as a washer and a locking device, spreading the load and providing nearly four times the bearing area of a regular hex screw. Flange bolts are commonly used in the frames of vehicles, especially trucks. Non-serrated flange bolts are most commonly used.
Common applications of Serrated Hex Flange Screws are:

  • • Automotive
  • • Plumbing
  • • Electronics
