3 1/2 Spring Bushing

The difference between a bushing and a bearing is a confusing one. In general, a bearing is designed to support load, and a bushing is designed to provide clearance, however many bushings sustain load, and many bearings also provide clearance. Tension Bushings look like Dowel Bushings, except that there is a split on one side. This split could be straight or wavy. The purpose of these bushings is to take up clearance between a shaft or a dowel pin and the bore of a machinery housing.
