Annular Cutters
An annular cutter (also called a Rotabroach, core drill, core cutter, broach cutter, trepanning drill, hole saw, or cup-type cutter) is a special type of cutter for making holes. It is similar to a hole saw for cutting metal. What’s unique about an annular cutter versus many other holemaking solutions is that it only cuts a groove equal to the thickness of the cutting teeth, at the periphery of the hole, which creates a solid slug that is removed from the center of the hole.
