#14-10 Split Rivets
Split Rivets, sometimes called Bifurcated Rivets, are usually used to clamp together textiles or leather goods, and consist of a cylindrical shaft with a large head and a deep split on the tail end of the shaft. Depending on the materials being joined together, the split rivet may be able to punch is way through without requiring a pre-drilled hole. On installation, the rivet is hammered against an anvil which splits the two ends of the tail apart, tightening the joint.
