M10 Heim Joints (DIN 648k)
A “rod end” and a “heim joint” refer to the same type of mechanical component. The term “heim joint” is commonly used in North America and originates from the H.G. Heim Company, which was one of the original manufacturers of these joints during World War II. In other regions, especially the UK, they are also called “rose joints”.A rod end, or heim joint, is a mechanical articulating joint that consists of a ball swivel with a hole through it, housed in a casing with a threaded shaft. This design allows for a limited degree of misalignment, making them ideal for applications where flexibility and adjustability are required—such as in steering, suspension, and various linkage systems in vehicles and machinery
