Axle Cap Nuts
Push‑on hat retainers, axle cap nuts, and top hat nuts are all push‑on cap‑style fasteners used to secure parts on smooth shafts, studs, or axles while also covering the exposed end. They are pressed onto the shaft so internal teeth or spring steel fingers bite into the metal and hold under tension, creating a vibration‑resistant, tool‑free “nut” that both retains the component and provides a finished, protective cap over the end.
