Aircraft Cable

Aircraft Cable is a very common type of wire rope available. It is thin, flexible, and exceedingly strong. It consists of steel wires that have been stranded together (usually between 8 and 28 strands), which gives the cable a perfect blend of flexibility and strength. Its name comes from the fact that is the style of wire rope that, for many years, was regularly used in aircraft flight controls. Aircraft Cable is usually measured by the number of strands in the cable, or the number of cables twisted together. Aircraft cable is rarely larger than 3/8" diameter, and can be as small as 3/64".
